In recognition that Local 8 now has many disciplines this year we will be offering our financial support to students in the following programs at either St. Clair College in Windsor or the University of Windsor: Registered Nurse, Registered Practical Nurse, Dietitian, Social Work and Medical Receptionist. In the event the education is not offered locally you will have to confirm your primary residence is in Windsor-Essex County. Maximum amount of the bursary is $1000.
This year students will submit a short essay on why unions are vital to healthcare workers.
This will be paid out with submission of receipt showing successful completion of the course and an appropriate taxation form will be generated.
A winner will be selected by the Local 8 Nursing Week Committee and will be announced online as of December 31, 2025.
Deadline for submission is December 1, 2025
